Dr. Garrett was born in Mississippi and grew up in Lawrenceville, Georgia where he was surrounded by animals. He received his B.S. in animal science at the University of Georgia. He then went on to do graduate work in Animal Studies at Clemson University with focus in microbiology, animal health and food safety. In 2020, he earned his DVM from Mississippi State University.
In vet school, Dr. Garrett had a special interest in pathology, with a focus on hematology and cytology, and he continues to enjoy discovering the origin of disease and devising individualized treatment plans for his pet patients. A firm believer in the value of client education, his hope is that clients leave our clinic knowing more than when they came in.
Dr. Garrett is excited to be living in Maine. He loves spending time outdoors and around water. He enjoys theater, Star Wars and looks forward to the expansion of the Star Wars universe. He loves to bake, his favorite being red velvet cake. He loves spending time with his family and friends, specifically his husband Brandon, his cats Hamilton and Scarlett and his lovable goof canine companion Winston.
